Court date set in Henderson city attorney DUI case

DUI DWI Laws

A court date is set for a Nevada city attorney facing drunken driving, leaving the scene of an accident and open container of alcohol charges following a daytime crash last month.

Henderson City Attorney Elizabeth Quillin is due for arraignment Monday in Henderson Municipal Court before a visiting judge, Moapa Valley Justice of the Peace D. Lanny Waite.

Henderson Municipal Court administrator David Hayward tells the Las Vegas Sun the Clark County district attorney's office will handle the prosecution.

The 51-year-old Quillin is on paid leave pending the outcome of the case and a city administrative investigation of the May 23 crash.

Police say she acknowledged she'd had "bottles" of wine and was intoxicated after crashing her vehicle into landscaping, a fire hydrant, a tree and other vehicles.
